Ha! McKenna, you take after your birth mother in height. Your facial shapes are like the maternal side and the coloring of your eyes, hair, and complexion reflect the paternal side. You take after your dad in your outgoing nature and after me in your sensitivity to other people’s emotions. All in all, you’re your own person. I’m so glad you’re my daughter. I love you. Mom

I’m really glad things worked out the way they did. I remember the day you and dad told us you guys were divorcing, and I had the dreaded thought in my mind that Kellini and I were going to have to choose between “Mom or Dad”. I’m really glad we didn’t have to.

Thanks mom, this really means a lot to me. I hope some day soon I can see that pic of my birth father, do we really look that much alike? (aside from my being vertically challenged compared to him, lol)

I wish you would have been in the room, Kathy. Or better yet, on the plane to fight “the system” so we wouldn’t get kicked off. At a minimum you would have shouted to the other passengers–”What are you staring at? They didn’t kidnap the baby!”

Jim Young–You might be my biggest fan. Not in a creepy, “Misery” with Kathy Bates way. Or a John Hinckley-Jodie Foster kind-of-way. Or a Robert DeNiro in “Taxi Driver” way. OH, NEVER MIND.

I will keep blogging because the ideas won’t stop dancing around in my head at 2:30 a.m. unless I write them down. Be ware! Class reunions make great settings for future stories!

Thanks Max. I have my first public book signing tomorrow at the nursing home where my mother lived the last year of her life. I’ll make reference to Paul Harvey while I tell the residents “the rest of the story” behind writing Luck of the Draw during that year Mom lived at Brookestone Village. Then I’ll issue a “call to action” for them to write their own stories for their children and grandchildren. I’ll let you know how it goes.
