Jim,

Many of my writer friends highly recommended Gibaldon's book. I'm embarrassed to tell you, I've had "Outlander" on my shelf for several years now and haven't read it. The mere size of it intimidates me. I'm the kind of reader who doesn't want to put down a compelling book and will carry it everywhere until I've finished it. While I can easily go a week without cooking a meal, my husband draws the line at my giving up showering for the duration of an epic read.

My 20-year-old daughter is ALSO studying in Chicago. She's finishing her sophomore year at DePaul. Small world, right?

Terri -
Because of you, I went upstairs, rooted around in my 21-year old daughter's room (she's off to college in Chicago) and lo & behold, I found a copy of "A Wrinkle in Time" (copyright 1972 edition - very '70s cover art). This is a book I had never read. Thank you. I loved it! Time travel is cool. Have you read "Outlander" by Diana Gibaldon? She is a very vivid author when it comes to descriptions (and smells).
Keep expanding my horizons!
